You’ve now likely heard about the protestors that invaded Cities Church in St. Paul Minnesota. For many Christians this has been a shock. But as you examine what has been happening within our society, it begins to make sense.
What I am hoping to convey here is that this shouldn’t be a surprise. It was shocking to witness, but it should not have been a surprise. We should never expect those who hate God to act civilized toward the righteous. We should expect unbelievers to act like unbelievers. It should not shock us when we see a parade of people that advocate for perversion shutting down a church service.
Insurance Companies Expect This, Why Don’t You?
There are only a handful of insurance companies that will even insure churches anymore. And part of the reason is things like this. There has been a massive in incidents of vandalism, arson, and even shootings within churches. The enemies of God want to make it difficult for the righteous to exist. And insurance companies, though they wouldn’t necessarily word it this way, do the cost benefit analysis and see that they need to bump up the premiums.
What I am saying is simply that businesses, whose money is on the line, are not surprised by these events. And they’re just running the numbers. I don’t believe they are casting this as a light vs darkness issue. I believe they are crunching the numbers and unsurprised when this sort of thing occurs.
Why are we surprised by it when our Lord told us it would be this way?
““If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. Remember the word that I said to you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will also keep yours. But all these things they will do to you on account of my name, because they do not know him who sent me. If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have been guilty of sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin. Whoever hates me hates my Father also. If I had not done among them the works that no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin, but now they have seen and hated both me and my Father. But the word that is written in their Law must be fulfilled: ‘They hated me without a cause.’”

What happened Sunday was shocking! I am not downplaying it at all.
But it’s not surprising. God haters hate God and we should expect to see the fruit of that on occasion.
The Pervert Parade
Don Lemon’s interview with the pastor made my brain start thinking in this direction. And the reason is that, in that confrontation, he called himself a Christian. But Don Lemon would not be allowed to join the church I pastor, and from my read on this church, he wouldn’t be allowed to join the church he raised either.
And the reason is simple. Don Lemon is a sodomite. His homosexuality is an act of open rebellion against God and His ways. He may claim Christianity, but Christian he is not and his embrace of sodomy proves that.
And as I dug into who was leading the raid in the church, I found that there was someone seeming to lead the charge. It wasn’t Don Lemon, it was Nekima Levy Armstrong.
You can read about her here. Her life seems to be characterized by this pretend Christianity as well. She was a regular preacher at a church that was kicked out of its denomination action for advocating and embracing LGBTQ lifestyles. The church later closed and the space is now being rented out.
Her leadership in this seems obvious in interviews she has done. And her reasoning is quite ironic. This woman, who preaches despite the Scriptures saying that she is not supposed to do so, who advocates for LGBTQ lifestyles that are directly opposed to God’s Word, claimed on CNN that this happened because the head of Ice for that area is a pastor at City Church.
Think about that. She is obviously in rebellion. And she is claiming to be on the side of righteousness because a man in law enforcement is a pastor of that church.
The woman is obviously blind and deceived. And in her blindness she calls the pervert parade that raided this church service good and right.
And again, this is shocking. But it’s not unexpected.
Remember Who We Are
Things like this should cause us to think about who we are. We are Christ’s people, invading the darkness with the message of Christ.
“We’re here to worship, we’re here to worship Jesus, because that’s the hope of these cities, that’s the hope of the world, is Jesus Christ…We’re here to worship Jesus. That’s why we’re here, that’s what we’re about.”
We are surrounded by darkness because we are invading it. The darkness hates us because we are not like them. As shown above, Jesus told us that this would be the case. But as Christians we keep moving forward. We keep taking ground for our Lord by making disciples as we declare the Gospel, baptize converts, and teach them all the Lord has commanded.
Our invasion of wickedness ruffles feathers. But don’t stop. Proceed knowing that we will be victorious! Proceed knowing that God will crush Satan under our feet.
“The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.”
