Abortion is a horror that our country will one day wrap its mind around. But because it’s a decision that is privately made, we don’t tend to consider how often this happens. We’re given large numbers, but it just doesn’t tell the story.
When you’re handed a large number it’s sometimes difficult to grasp. It’s horrific to hear that over 1 million babies are aborted in the US every year. But the number is large enough that we don’t quite take hold of it.
But here’s something that makes it a little easier to grasp. If you are Gen Z, then look around. Almost 1/4 of your generation was murdered in the womb.
You should’ve had almost 1/4 more classmates. You should’ve graduatesled with almost 1/4 more people. For every three people you know in your generation, one died in the womb.
I Had To Investigate
I saw a claim that over 25% of Gen Z had been aborted and had to look at it. As it turns out, that might be the case. Abortion stats are difficult to ascertain, in part because some states don’t report them. California, Maryland, New Hampshire, and New Jersey don’t report these numbers so there are gaps in the data. Therefore, the best numbers we can come up with as a country are estimates.
Even though this is the case, we do get estimates. And these estimates are based on what we know from other states. Guttmacher and the CDC give these estimates yearly and are considered fairly reliable.
So, I decided to ask Grok a question. I wanted to let AI do the math for me and use the best estimates. The question was, “What percentage of Gen Z was aborted?”
Gen Z are those people born between 1997 and 2012. The oldest are those that are currently marrying and having children. And the youngest of Gen Z are in Junior High right now. So we are talking about 13 year olds to 28 year olds.
The answer was shocking. Based upon CDC and Guttmacher Institute estimates, the percentage of Gen Z that was aborted is 23.4%. Here is the conversation if you want to look at it.
The fact is, even Grok says this, the numbers could be higher. We just don’t know. But it’s pretty safe to assume that 23.4% of Gen Z was murdered in the womb. And it’s very possibly fully 1/4.

Hitler and Stalin could never have dreamed up a horror like this. 1/4 of an entire generation was eliminated and half the population cheered for it.
