Over the past few days a video has gone viral of a female police officer sobbing after being punched in the face by a man. It’s incredibly hard to watch. So, you have been warned.
I feel bad for her. And I’m glad she’s okay. It could have gotten worse.
But I want to use this occasion to say something that is highly unpopular. She shouldn’t have been in that role to begin with.
A society that has decided to put its women on the front lines is cowardly, wicked, and doomed for destruction.
More importantly, a society that does this is an abomination to God.
What Happened?
The image below is just before she was attacked. There is a brawl and she is attempting to hold back a man much larger than herself. And it doesn’t take much of an imagination to understand what happened next.

You May Have Heard Me Say This Before…But I’m Saying It Again
I have expressed on other occasions my belief that women should not be in any military role that would expose her to be face to face with an enemy combatant.
But I also believe the same thing would hold true for female police officers. I see no problem with a female working for the police in some fashion. But I don’t see any solid argument around why any female should be attempting to arrest criminals.
I expressed this view as people began proposing women be forced to sign up for the draft. And the arguments that I will make here are virtually the same. In fact, I will not be treating this topic thoroughly because I’ve already done that in the article I linked to above.
God designed men for this sort of thing. He did not design women for this sort of thing. Because of this, it is foolish and wicked to have women do this sort of thing.
What Does The Bible Say?
Most people would think that the Bible says little or nothing about this. But that is not correct. With few notable exceptions it was men that were in harms way, not women.
It was men that were doing the fighting. Men were responsible for ensuring the safety of villages. And men were given the task of protecting the women and children.
In Deuteronomy we find one statement about this very thing.
““A woman shall not wear a man’s garment, nor shall a man put on a woman’s cloak, for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord your God.”
Deuteronomy 22:5 ESV
This text is often cited concerning cross dressing. And that applies, but it is not solely pertaining to cross dressing.
It is considered an abomination for a woman to put on the “Keli” of a man. “Keli” is not necessarily clothing. It is the equipment of a man. Older translations did a better job translating this when they said “that which pertaineth to a man”. Young’s Literal Translation uses the term “habiliments”. It is a term we don’t use anymore, but it makes the most sense considering the definition of the word “keli”. Habiliments are the clothing associated with an office or a job.
A soldier has habiliments that are different than the habiliments of a police officer. A cook has habiliments that are different than that of a garbage man.
When we understand this we see that it’s not a discussion about clothing per se. It’s a discussion about out gender differences and roles.
It is not the woman’s role to protect our country. And it is not the woman’s role to be the person on the front lines of law enforcement arresting men. A man is not supposed to wear the habiliments of a woman. And the woman is not supposed to wear the habiliments of a man. This pertains to the type of work men and women ought and ought not to be doing.
In other words, throwing handcuffs on people is not women’s work. That’s work for men.
And I do understand how some people will respond to that last sentence.
Men And Women Are Different
Men and women are different. We understand this intuitively, but we also see it in Scripture.
“Likewise, husbands, live with your wives in an understanding way, showing honor to the woman as the weaker vessel, since they are heirs with you of the grace of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered.” (1 Peter 3:7 ESV)
Men are not supposed to treat women like men. They are to honor them as the “weaker vessel”. Weak doesn’t mean worth less. This is not a question of worth. This is a question of how she is to be treated. She is not to be treated like a man. She is not to be out trying to handcuff a man in the middle of a scuffle at the airport.
She’s not built for that.
The differences in the two genders are profound. Men have greater muscle mass, are typically taller, larger, and faster. They cannot get pregnant, carry babies, and cannot feed babies from their bodies.
And this is just where the differences begin. We could go on an on about the differences. Men and women see colors differently, communicate differently, the bone structure is different.
Simply put, a man is a man and a woman is a woman. And when you don’t understand this people get hurt.
Women handcuffing men is not understanding that men and women are different. And if this continues, then you will see more and more women get hurt.
Conclusion
I have written on this topic in more detail here if you’d like to read it. And I hope you will. If I were to treat this topic more thoroughly, I would just be writing the same thing over again.
I do want to conclude with this thought. If God says it’s an abomination for a woman to be doing the work that men are made for, then what do you think God thinks of a society that applauds it?
Obviously this is something that the Lord is displeased with. And men in England, and here in America, are obligated to put an end to their wives and daughters facing dangerous criminals on the streets.
