Manipulated into Ingratitude

Americans have often been manipulated by news media and others. We can look back at different events and see that this was the case.

Examples of this abound. Lyndon Johnson seems to have misled Congress about the Gulf of Tonkin incident to get America involved in Vietnam. In 2008 the Senate reviewed prewar intelligence that George W. Bush used to declare that there were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. People, we’re not sure who, were misled there as well.

Manipulation abounds. And I think we understand that.

But Saturday a different type manipulation occurred. And it was a manipulation that should have been obvious. The people of America were manipulated into not honoring and showing thankfulness for the United States Army by people that wanted to get Trump.

North Korea Like Event?

The claim from Democrats over the past few weeks was that Trump wants to be a dictator. So he had a military parade similar to that of North Korea and Russia.

They completely ignored the fact that this is the first military parade in a long time. We have had them in the past. And it also ignored the fact that this was a 250th Birthday celebration for the United States Army.

The United States Army is older than the United States of America. And a Quarter Millenium anniversary doesn’t happen all the time. 250 years is something worth celebrating.

Trump’s Birthday?

Yes. Donald J. Trump’s birthday is on the same day as the Army’s birthday. But Donald J. Trump didn’t plan all of the army celebration. A celebration has been in the works for two years. The change that Trump made was to make this a parade.

The Second Continental Congress, on June 14, 1775, voted to establish official companies following the fighting at Lexington and Concord against British troops. Congress voted to create the Continental Army and then, on June 15, appointed George Washington as commander in chief.

Trump didn’t choose to be born on the Army’s birthday. Nor did he plan this celebration or the day it would fall on.

I used to mock Trump Derangement Syndrome as an idea. But it really does seem to be real.

No Kings Day

No Kings Protest planners put together an event that would be in opposition to the Army’s 250th Birthday Celebration. They claimed it was to defy President Trump during his birthday celebration. X was filled with pictures that revealed the enormous size of many of these protests in comparison to the Army’s 250th Birthday Celebration. Newspapers such as the New York Times ran multiple articles that seemed to celebrate No Kings Day’s defiance of Trump.

No Kings Day Protests, as shown above, were based upon lies. The parade wasn’t a birthday celebration for the President. It wasn’t a dictator showing off the military. These people were duped. This is an image from the Minnesota State Capitol.

It is estimated that between 4-6 million people participated in these protests. And these massive protests are living proof of how gullible people can be. They are proof of how easily manipulated the American public is and how much control the media have over the minds of the population.

These people are walking, talking proof of how easily we can forget the many things that the American military has given us.

Try Not To Be Ignorant, Be Thankful

I have known quite a few service members over the years. And I am glad that I have. I am incredibly thankful for their service and the service of many that have gone before them.

U.S. Army Soldiers participate in the Army’s 250th Birthday Parade in Washington, D.C., June 14, 2025.

I am also thankful for all that the Army has done for us here in the United States. I am thankful that there is a United States and the Army’s role in that. And I believe that most Americans would agree with what I am typing here.

I’m not saying anything controversial. Or it shouldn’t be controversial. It’s only controversial if you were ignorant enough to buy the lies sold to you. And sadly, millions of Americans were just that.
