I struggle at times with what Ed Welch calls the “fear of man.” It causes me to behave in ways that I should not. Sometimes my behavior can be it’s people-pleasing, sometimes it is people-avoiding. I guess it depends on what side of the bed I woke up on…I think my parents and grandparents used to say something about that changing my mood.
| I am recommending this book because it is both revealing and liberating. It revealed to me places in my life where fear of man is dominant, though I did not realize it. I feel that it would do the same for others, and based on other reviews of the book it already has. At the same time the book is liberating because it aids us in casting off the “fear of man” and having the “fear of God” that we are supposed to have.
Enjoy! R. Dwain Minor
