When I was young I never thought much about marriage and kids. Looking back it seems that marriage didn’t even enter my mind until I met my wife. Before that, I assumed that I would be single for the rest of my life. I’m not sure why, but it did seem to be the mindset that I had.
By God’s grace, I was given a loving and kind wife whose excellencies I have extolled on another post. When I stated that “she does us good”, I truly meant it and still do today. God blessed me with a truly wonderful wife. She is truly more precious to me than jewels, any kind of jewels and that is the truth. (Proverbs 31:10-31) God shined favorably upon me in this union. (Proverbs 18:22)
But, it’s not just my wife that I find a blessing in my home. God has blessed me with two children that I cherish. They are gifts from God. (Psalm 127:3) And, I am reminded of this often in my interactions with them.
This is a short post, but this is so very meaningful to me. I have been in ministry for over 12 years. I have worked with families in turmoil over the years for many different reasons. And looking through that lens I see the great blessing of having a family like mine. I am truly blessed.
